A Fabulous Elizabethan Carved Oak Three Tier Court Cupboard/Buffet of rich colour & patination, Circa 1580-1600. The upper frieze drawer having a dentil moulded top edge and carved undulating trails of ball flowers & leaves defined against a pitted ground. The bulge front mid tier housing a further long drawer with similarly carved ornamentation. The front supports carved in the form of fine heraldic lions sejant depicted sat on their haunches with their front paws resting on scrolled shields; their curly manes tumbling down their shoulders. The rear stile supports enhanced with palmate carving and leading down to a plain base shelf on block feet, 46” (117 cm) high, 52¼” (133 cm) wide, 17” (43 cm) deep.
