A Large 17th Century Style Carved Oak Coffer. The broad single piece top on iron staple hinges having a moulded edge with yew-wood & bog oak inlaid initials T I E and date 1667. The front carved with fruiting vine undulating along the frieze rails above three carved horizontal upper panels and four lozenge carved carved panels below; the two outer ones inlaid with chequered squared to the centre. The muntins, rails and broad supporting stiles enriched with further foliate carving, 32” (81 cm) high, 65½” (167 cm) wide, 27” (69 cm) deep.
