An 18th Century 30 Hour Oak Longcase Clock. The 10” (25.5 cm) square brass dial having a silvered centre signed William Winston Hereford below engraved sailing ships, with a tower to the centre incorporating a vertical band with leafy scrolls either side. The chapter ring engraved with blacked Roman numeral hour markers with fleur-de-lys marking the half hours and an inner ring of minute divisions, centred by a single pierced blued hand. The corners adorned with intricately scrolling gilt spandrels. The slender oak case having a lip-moulded trunk door above a moulded base. The hood with integral half columns flanking the dial and a pagoda pediment surmounted by a stepped, moulded wooden finial, 86” (219 cm) in height.
