Description
A Large Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Musical Longcase Clock. The case inlaid with foliate scrolls, bellflower chains, an urn to the base below swagged garlands, and fanned quadrant motifs to the corners. The hood having a moulded swan neck pediment with carved rosettes to the terminals. The trunk with a glazed arch-topped door displaying the brass pendulum and eight tubular chimes, flanked by recessed fluted quarter columns to the sides. The break arch-topped dial with a silvered Silent/ 4 tubes/ 8 tubes ring amidst scrolling gilt mounts, above a silvered chapter ring with applied gilt brass Arabic numerals encircling a matted centre with a subsidiary seconds ring. The corners adorned with scrolling spandrels. Standing 104” (264 cm) in height.
