A Joined Oak Armchair attributed to South Lancashire/North Cheshire Circa 1680-1720. The shaped cresting rail blind fret carved with linked C-scrolls. The broad back panel boldly carved with a pyramid of berries in a reeded cup-shaped pod to the centre flanked by scrolling stems of flowers and foliage enriched with punchwork and framed by applied moulding. The down-swept silhouette cut scroll-end arms incised with decorative lines, resting on cannon barrel turned posts above similarly turned legs supporting a moulded seat above channel moulded rails and united by low peripheral stretchers, 108 cm high, 64 cm wide, 56 cm deep (42½” h. 25” w. 22” d.)
