A Large & Impressive 19th Century Porcelain & Ormolu Mounted Parquetry Credenza in the manner of Donald Ross (British, 1830-1916). The two central breakfront cupboard doors, canted pilasters, top and sides all inlaid with characteristic interlaced trellis bands outlined with stringing and interspersed with dots displayed against a satinwood ground and framed by banded borders. The doors mounted with oval Sèvres style porcelain plaques depicting portrait busts in celeste bleu borders framed by gilt bronze settings, and flanked by glazed side cupboards enclosing amaranth & birdseye maple veneered shelves. The canted divides adorned with ormolu caryatids; their crowned heads rising above pendant scrolls of acanthus. The frieze embellished with a recessed guilloche band and foliate cast beading, centred by a bacchanalian trophy cast with seated fauns. Standing on a plinth base 45½” (115 cm) high, 92” (234 cm) wide, 21½” (55 cm) deep.
