Four Ornamental Fragment Carvings incorporating cherub heads: A late 17th century near square oak furniture appliqué relief carved with a cherub’s head amidst feathery wings and foliage 5” x 4½” (12.5 cm x 11 cm). A late 18th/19th century walnut relief carving of angel head and wings 3½” (9 cm) high, 9” (23 cm) wide. A small 17th century walnut head of a curly haired angel carved in high relief and mounted on an oak panel chip carved with a leafy limb to the reverse. And a dark stained oak pediment fragment carved with winged cherub’ s head and scrollwork with John Taylor’s paper collector’s label to the verso and an inscribed sticker ‘Rare Oak Cherub France C.1550’ 7” x 8½” (17 cm x 22 cm).
