Description
An Edwardian Style Painted Satinwood Serpentine Front Display Cabinet. The frame-work inlaid with rosewood cross-banding outlined with strings of boxwood and ebony. The moulded cornice enhanced with chequer banding above a decorative frieze painted with a cameo medallion to the centre flanked by scrolls of husk flowers and foliage, with swagged rose garlands to the sides. The glazed serpentine centre door and bowed side panels displaying a shelved interior lined in oyster moiré fabric edged with braid. The uprights painted with pendant chains of pink roses leading down to a lower cupboard with panel door emblazoned with a scenic gathering of cherubs bearing a garland of flowers, encircled by a foliate wreath and flanked by further cherubs. Standing on six square legs with moulded feet 72½” (184 cm) high, 48” (122 cm) wide.
