Description
A 17th Century Westmorland Wainscot Chair. The shaped cresting rail carved with initials MH and date 1684, flanked by dragonesque creatures with coiled tails forming lobe terminals. The back panel enriched with a quatrefoil knot of interlaced strap-work flanked by guilloche bands ornamenting the uprights. The turned legs united by peripheral stretchers, 39½” (100 cm) high, 21½” (55 cm) wide.
