A Fine 19th Century Bronze Doré Mantel Clock in the Louis XVI Style presented on a gilt wood stand within a glass dome with ebonised base. The 3¾” (9.5 cm) white convex enamel dial signed C TAYLOR à Paris, and having intricately pierced gilt hands pointing to black Roman numerals within a ring of minute divisions marked at five minute intervals with Arabics. The face encircled with beading and set in a drum case atop a fluted columnar pedestal surmounted by a fircone finial festooned with foliate garlands. The sides adorned with intricately cast caryatids swagged with drapery and mounted on a D-ended break-front plinth adorned with a pair of love birds to the front and crested acanthus either side, raised on gilt feet. The clock standing on a moulded serpentine giltwood base with puce velvet top, beaded edge and square squat bun feet. The movement inscribed C Taylor & Son Paris and numbered 4192 with corresponding numbers to the original pendulum, 20” (51 cm) overall in height.
