A Group of 19th Century Fragment Carvings (A/F): An Oak Rail emblazoned with a facemask to the centre flanked by undulating scrolls of acanthus with zoomorphic terminals and rosette roundels, 6” x 34” (15.5 cm x 86 cm). A pair of pediment rails carved with central scallop shell motifs flanked by foliate scrolls (one A/F) 34½” (87 cm) wide. Another pediment carved with a cherub’s face mask to the top (A/F) flanked by ferocious griffins, 38” (97 cm) wide, a wall shelf on scrolling corbel brackets carved with the heads of man & woman above acanthus leaves 11½” (57 cm) wide, 5” (12.5 cm) deep, 13½” (34 cm) high. And a pair of flanking pieces carved with profiled atlantes with upswept feathery wings beneath pendant garlands of fruit and foliage, 34” (86.5 cm) high, 10” (25.5 cm) wide.
