Description
An Attractive 19th Century Thuya-wood French Empire Dressing Chest with ormolu mounts. The rectangular top with moulded edge, inset with an oval marble tray (cracked) and having an arch topped mirror in a bevelled frame wi the back suspended between round turned columns surmounted by ball finials and furnished with ornately cast swan form candle sconces. The chest housing four long drawers with partitioned interiors to the two upper drawers, adorned with elaborately cast escutcheons and swan-form handles, the pilaster enriched with anthemion embellishments. Standing on a plinth base 69” (175 cm) high, 36” (91 cm) wide, 21” (53.5 cm) deep.
