Description
A Highly Decorative & Elaborate 19th Century Jewellery Casket of rectangular form. The porcelain sides decorated with fêtes champêtres and set in a gold tone cast metal frame embellished with silver toned mounts. The lid surmounted by a scrolling handle adorned with cherub heads and cornucopia spilling roses to the sides, with a putto standing at each corners on a crested pedestal above the scroll feet. The lock with key having a grotesque mask escutcheon, the gaping mouth forming the key hole. The interior lined in padded shell-pink silk, 14” (36 cm) high, 14” (36 cm) wide, 19” (26 cm) deep.
