A 17th Century Oak Wainscot Chair attributed to Gloucestershire Circa 1620-25. The shaped cresting rail carved with an undulating stem of flowers & foliage surmounted by demi-lune flower-head lobes either side. The arcaded back panel carved with scrolling stems of flowers, grapes and foliage defined against a recessed pitted ground and framed by guilloche arches with foliate S-scrolls adorning the uprights. The arms on barrel turned posts leading down to turned legs on square block feet with stile supports to the rear, 41½” (105 cm) high, 22½” (57 cm) wide.
