A 19th Century French Porcelain, Ormolu & Onyx Marble Clock Garniture Set in the Louis XVI Style. The movement marked on back plate LEPINE A PARIS with Japy Freres Grande Med. d’Honneur stamp and numbers 9806. The arch-topped rectangular case surmounted by an urn to the centre and fircone finials to the corners above pendant oak-leaf garlands hanging down the canted sides. The Sèvres style porcelain dial painted with a celestial cherub encircled by a celeste bleu border incorporating Roman numeral cartouches and enriched with gilt embellishments. The inset facade panel painted with a reclining cherub blowing a horn, with bouquets of flowers hung from pink ribbons to the sides. The marble plinth applied with finely cast gilt moulded and raised on beaded toupee feet, 15” (38 cm) high, 8” (20 cm) wide. The accompanying twin branch candelabra 10” 925 cm) in height.
