A Set of Eight 19th Century Baronial Carved Oak Dining Chairs including two carvers, formally in The Duke of Hamilton’s Estate. The padded arch-topped back panels and upholstered seats re-leathered and edged with brass studs. The backs in pierced frames boldly carved with fruiting vine surmounted by foliate crested Green-man face-masks and flanked by barley-twist uprights topped by turned finials. Standing on ball & block legs united by barley-twist stretchers 42” (107 cm) high, the seats 18” (46 cm) high, 18” (46 cm) wide. The carvers having padded elbow rests with carved mythical beast-head terminals to the arms on barley-twist supports, 51” (130 cm) high, 26” (66 cm) wide.
