An Unusual 17th Century Oak Heraldic Frame of rectangular form, circa 1660. Profusely carved armorial shields to the top and base amidst relief carved trophies incorporating armour, weapons and soldiers to one side with swagged flowers, musical instruments and muses to the other. The external measurement 35” x 31½” (89 cm x 80 cm), with a cloth clad slip to interior, the aperture 24½” x 20¾” (62 cm x 52.5 cm).
