A 19th Century Decorative Porcelain & Gilt Mounted Mantel Clock. The porcelain dial, sweeping sides and shaped panel facade painted in winged cherubs & trophies of love in grisaille enamels displayed against a pompadour pink ground; The dial marked with gilt Roman numerals in a petal edged chapter ring. The movement stamped JAPY FRERES & CIE MED D’HONNEUR and numbered 14077 with corresponding numbers to the case and pendulum. The case surmounted by a celestial cherub bearing a torch & flowers, with finials to the corners and winged caryatids above the scroll feet leading down to an ornamental plinth mounted on a moulded giltwood base with dark blue clad velvet top (worn). 18” (46 cm) overall in height.
