Description
A 17th Century Joined Oak Coffer with Marquetry Inlay. The lid having a moulded edge above a lunette carved frieze and three front panels inlaid with interlaced geometric knots of geometric chequered bands outlined with ebony stringing and divided by channel moulded muntins with incised embellishments to the channels. Standing on stile supports with scrolling spandrels to the corners, 27¼” (70 cm) high, 48” (122 cm) wide, 19½” (50 cm) in depth.
