A Fine Charles II Boarded Oak Coffer. The plank lid with stepped edge moulding enriched with a border of stamped embellishments. The front board carved with initials RY and date 1681 below the lockplate and flanked by lozenge motifs with daisy-heads of layers petals to the centre and demi-lune flower heads to the sides. The supporting end boards cut with V-shapes forming the feet, 24 in (61 cm) high, 46½ in (118 cm) wide, 14½ in (37 cm) deep.
