Description
A Pair of 19th Century Best High Back Smoker or Broad arm Windsor Chairs attributed to Yorkshire Circa 1840-80. The upper and lower yew-wood splats fretted with heart motifs and flanked by eight stick spindles; four either side leading down to a sectional arm bow with out-swept pad terminals above six baluster turned under arm spindles. The elm seats on well-turned baluster legs united by turned H-form stretchers, 45” (114 cm) high, 25” (64 cm) wide, the seats 17¼” (44 cm) high.
