A Good 19th Century Inlaid Oak Wainscot Chair in the 17th Century Style. The shaped cresting rail carved with seeding flower heads flanking initialed GP, with lobed terminals either side jutting out over the channel moulded uprights, inlaid with bands of ‘barber’s pole’ marquetry and embellished with punchwork. The arched back panel carved with two birds perched either side of a pod atop a flowering plants of scrolling stems issuing fanned blooms and foliage. The turned legs united by peripheral stretchers, 45½” (115 cm) high, 22½” (57 cm) wide.
