Description
A 17th Century & Later Oak Triple Panelled Coffer, re-constructed retaining a richly carved & inlaid period facade attributed to Yorkshire (A/F). The panels marquetried with flowering plants. The frieze rail ornamented with a linked band of alternate ball flowers and lozenge motifs defined against a recessed pitted ground, with undulating scrolls of fruiting vine adorning the muntins & stiles, and zoomorphic S-scroll running along the base rail between replacement feet, 24¾” (63 cm) high, 55” (140 cm) wide, 21½” (55 cm) deep.
