A Fine Late 17th Century English Oak Wainscot Chair of Modest proportions. The top rail emblazoned with the name IAMES.HAYNE defined against a recessed & pitted band bordered by chip carved scalloping punched with star embellishments. The back panel carved with a guilloche quatrefoil knop encircling five daisy wheels enriched with punchwork above a scalloped base rail. The down-swept plank arms branded with three ‘S’s to the top edge of one, and resting on reel turned posts leading down to similarly turned legs united by peripheral stretchers.
