A Small Louis XVI Style Bronze & Gilt Bronze Figural Mantel Clock. The 2¼” (6 cm) diameter white enamelled dial with black Arabic numerals marking the hours within a ring of minute divisions numbered at the quarter hour in red, ornamented with intricately painted swagged garlands of pink rose with gilt embellishments, and having ornately pierced and gilded hands. The drum case surmounted by a leafy branch with a bird on bird’s nest to the top and a bronze curly haired infant scrambling up one side, raised on a gilt stop-fluted column above a pink marble plinth with re-entrant corner quadrants above turned gilt feet, 6” (15 cm) in height.
