Description
A 17th Century Oak Wainscot Chair. The broad arcaded panel back in a guilloche carved arch with guilloche trefoil spandrels, enriched with punchwork. The lunette carved top rail surmounted by a carved foliate scroll cresting bar with voluted terminals above run moulded uprights. The arms on gun barrel turned posts leading down to a planked seat on similarly turned legs united by peripheral stretchers and terminating on turned feet, 48½” (123 cm) high, 23” (58 cm) wide.
