The tall panel back centred by a relief carving of a seated nun holding a book above inscription ‘Scentia Primales’ contrasted against a parquetry brickwork ground and flanked by Solomonic columns with angel heads adorning the foliate capitals. The arms boldy carved in the form of recumbent sphinxes flanking a solid seat on a box form base; the panelled sides enriched with intricately inlaid marquetry bands and having integrated octagonal columns to the sides on a plinth moulded base, 68” (173 cm) high, 29” (74 cm) wide, 22½” (57 cm) deep.
