A Fabulous Late 17th Century, William & Mary Marquetry Chest of Drawers. The top beautifully inlaid with an opulent display of flowers; scrolling stems of tulips, carnations and roses with a pair of king fishers perched either side, framed in a broad oval band of oyster veneers outlined in stringing and having further sprays of flowers with finches adorning the corners, in a coromandel border with moulded edge. The two short over three long drawers inlaid with similar D-ended panels of flowers and birds and fitted with ornately cast brass drop handle and escutcheons, framed by D-moulding above a moulded base on turned bun feet, The sides with arched marquetry panels in oyster veneered borders, 35” (89 cm) high, 37½” (95 cm) wide, 22¼” (57 cm) deep.
