After Lelievre Paris. A Fine Vintage French Repeating Brass Carriage Clock with 8 day movement striking the hours and half hours on a gong. The decorative brass case engraved with scrolling foliage, numbered No XXVIII to the front and signed LELIEVRE PARIS to the door. The 2¼” (6 cm) white enamel dial inscribed ‘L’Epée Fondie en 1839 Sainte Suzanne Paris’, with black Roman numerals within Arabic five minute markers to the outer minutes track. The mask adorned with a fretted & engraved brass overlay decorated with a bird amongst scrolling foliage,7½” (19 cm) high [handle up], 4” (10 cm) wide, 3½” (9 cm) deep. Housed in an outer red leather casing with leather strap handle, stamped in gilt lettering; ‘Collezioni La Vallée’.
