A Fine Late 19th Century Inlaid Mahogany Bookcase of slender proportions, with embossed brass label inside drawer; ‘S & H Jewell 29, 30, 31 Queen St Holborn WC’. The upper section having a swan neck pediment above two glazed doors; the sweeping lancet topped glazing bars enriched with stinging with satinwood cross-banding to the borders . The base section with a bow front top inlaid with a classical urn flanked by husk flowers and foliate scrolls enriched with pen-work, framed in satinwood border and chequer stringing. The frieze housing two drawers above panel doors decorated with swagged floral garlands and musical trophies hung on ribbon bows. Standing on a plinth base 82” (208 cm) high, 29” (74 cm) wide.
