A Fine 17th Century Italian Walnut & Parcel Gilt Armchair of generous proportions. The padded rectangular back, seat and boxed frieze covered in crimson damask woven with foliate designs and edged with tasselled fringing. The uprights surmounted by giltwood finials carved with plumes of foliage. The flat arms projecting forward over baluster turned posts. The square legs on sledge supports with carved lion paw feet, 59” (150 cm) overall in height, 28¾” (73 cm) wide.
