Description
A Pair of Fine Late 18th Century Mahogany Corner Tables. The quadrant tops inlaid with lavish foliate crested scrolls and chains of bell-flowers tied in ribbon, enhanced with pen-work and framed in amaranth bands with a row of satinwood anthemion motifs adorning the bow front edge. The parquetry frieze decorated with repeated rectangular panels of quarter veneered king and cross-banding, housing a drawer to the centre above a scalloped apron dotted with flower-heads. The square tapering legs inlaid with stringing leading down to brass caps and ball feet. Both Tables and drawers bearing an oval ivorine retailer’s label; ‘Frank Partridge Works of Art, 26, King Street, St James’s and New York’. 30½” (77.5 cm) high, 22” (56 cm) radius.
