A Fabulous George III Style Carved Mahogany Gainsborough Chair. The square generously proportioned back with swept top, padded arm-rests and spacious seat re-upholstered in a fine quality fabric woven with foliate designs in blue & cream. The down-curved arm supports enriched with carved foliage and wrythen rosettes to the terminals. Standing on crested cabriole legs adorned with pendant bell flowers and voluted scrolls of acanthus leading down to the ball & claw feet. The rear legs raked back and terminating on pad feet. 38” (97 cm) high, 28” (71 cm) wide.
