A Large 19th Century Dutch Figured Walnut Bureau Bookcase in the 18th Century Style. The upper section having mirror panelled doors with bevelled edges, shaped ogee tops and triple reeded border moulding beneath an arched pediment centred by a scrolling mirror backed cartouche with foliate crest to the top. The doors opening to reveal two scroll edged shelves above three shallow drawers and candle slides below. The base section having a graduated faced of concave and convex curved with a sweeping fall front section supported by candle drawers and opening to reval a fitted interior housing a centre cabinet, pilaster compartments, pigeon holes and stepped drawers either side, with a sliding lid to the centre accessing frieze chamber below, and a leather insert to the flap. The three low drawers fitted with ornate brass handles and escutcheons flanked by outset canted corners, 97” (221 cm) high, 41¼” (105 cm) wide, 25½” (65 cm) deep at the base.
