A Fabulous Quality 19th Century Inlaid Birds-eye Maple Jewellery Box bordered in amaranth bands enhanced with box-wood & ebony stringing and decorative details. The lid quartered by a cross of banding with a radial display to the centre and fanned motifs to the corners capping faceted protuberant corner columns leading down to a moulded plinth base. The hinged lid secured by a stamped HOBBS of LONDON lock with key, opening to reveal two partitioned lift-out trays; the upper one quartered, the lower one halved, with a void beneath; all lined in royal blue velvet. 7¼” (18.5 cm) high, 13¾” (35 cm) wide, 9½” (24 cm) deep.
