Description
A Late 17th Century Oak Mule Chest on Stand. The box-form top enclosed by a hinged plank lid. The facade having three arcaded panels richly decorated with carving enhanced with punchwork and adorned with ornamental bosses & split spindle appliqués; the frieze carving retaining traces of red paintwork. The base housing two geometrically moulded drawer with brass drop handles. The stand with a shaped apron and spindle turned adornments each side, 37¾” (96 cm) high, 47½” (121 cm) wide, 23¼” (59 cm) deep.
