Description
A Charles II Inlaid Oak Enclosed Chest in two sections adorned with decorative mouldings. The upper section having a dentil moulded top above a long frieze drawer with three moulded panels; the outer two inlaid with pen-worked bone & mother of pearl. The deep drawer below fitted with a later secrètaire; the hinged fall front centred by an inlaid roundel within a moulded octagon flanked by arcaded side panels enriched with inlay and having pairs of spilt spindle appliqués ornamenting the divides. The interior housing arch pigeon holes and drawers. The base section having two geometrically moulded cushion front doors enclosing three long drawer with iron loop handles, standing on bracket feet 50½” (128.5 cm) high, 45” (114 cm) wide, 26” (66 cm) deep.
