Description
A 19th Century Carved Sandstone Pediment Piece, possibly the work of an apprentice. The 2” (5 cm) thick slab shaped with a roundel raised on waisted foot, surmounted by three demi-lune lobes: The roundel centred by a daisy wheel encircled by an undulating stem interspersed with stone mason’s tools. The surmounting lobed decorated with a plant of drooping foliage to the centre and hearts flanked by crossed tobacco pipes either side, 12” (30.5 cm) high, 8” (20 cm) wide.
