Description
A Large & Impressive 19th Century German Silver Treasure Casket with Hanau marks, modelled as a Gothic cathedral. The rectangular receptacle having a hexagonal spire with pierced tracery sides to the centre of an apexed roof embossed with diaper-work tiles and hinged to one side to form the lid. The casket’s sides embellished with saints in Gothic arches divided by breakfront pilasters with crocketed pinnacles. Standing on squat bun feet, 18 in (46 cm) high, 13 in (33 cm long, 7 ins (18 cm) wide.
