Description
A 17th Century Malines Alabaster & Ebonised Wooden Box. The sloped lid now inset with a panel of needlework framed by moulding, opening to reveal a purple silk lined interior with a lidded compartment to the back and sliding side panel rising to access three secret drawers below. The front and back having twin arcaded panels of engraved alabaster divided by pairs of split column appliqués to the break front pilasters, 6½” (17 cm) high, 10¾” (27 cm) wide, 8¼” (21 cm) deep.*
