Description
An Unusual Late 17th/Early 18th Century Joined Oak Armchair, possibly of Shropshire origin. The pierced cresting rail carved with opposing S-scrolls flanking a tuilp enriched with punchwork embellishments above fielded panel back with scrolled base rail reflecting the top. The planked seat on turned legs raised above seat level to the front, with a fine decoratively carved front stretcher and plain rails to the sides and rear. 42” (107 cm) in height, 25” (63 cm) wide, 23” (59 cm) deep.
