Description
A Pair of Exceptional William & Mary Carved Walnut Side Chairs. The caned oval back panels in elaborately pierced & carved frames ornamented with scrolling foliage, surmounted by a ‘Boyes & Crowne’ cresting rail and flanked by barley-twist uprights with finial surmounts and rosette carving to the tenon blocks. The seats protected by cushioned boards upholstered in terracotta, ochre & cream woven fabric edged with piping, and standing on barley twist legs united by elaborately carved front rails and turned barley-twist H-form under-stretchers, 48” (122 cm) high 20½” (52 cm) wide.
