A Fabulous Late 17th Century Leather Clad Travelling Trunk lavishly adorned with studded brass embellishments. The slightly domed lid centred by a star burst design, with radial fluted rosette bosses to the corners and initials FB flanking a heart to the back. The front fitted with an elaborately cast gilt brass escutcheon in the form of an urn of flowers with lock & key, below a ring handle to the lid. The sides with iron swing handles. The chest 21” (54 cm) high, 42” (107 cm) wide, 21” (53.5 cm) deep, having later sledge block bearers.
