The piece elaborately decorated all over with birds in panels divided by bands of scrolling foliage and incorporating a portrait medallion of lady and gent to the lid flanking a pivotting strap concealing the key hole. The key operating a sprung lock with intricately engraved mechanism within. 3½” (9 cm) high (handle down], 7” (18 cm) wide, 4” (20 cm) deep.
