The interior having a pierced knife rack housing a group of 19th century ivorine handled dinner knives (19 large, 15 smaller) with engraved handles and steel blades stamped JOHN MORTLOCK & Co OXFORD ST; The handles engraved with initials and dates; GBR M 1891 GBR M 1896 & JGM 1902. The lid interior inlaid with a compass star, 15” (38 cm) high, 9” (23 cm) wide, 11¾” (30 cm) deep.
