Description
A 17th Century Boarded Oak Coffer. The plank lid having chip carved engrailing to the ends and run moulding to the front edge, fitted with iron strap hinges and opening to reveal a lidded candle box to one side. The front board enriched with a Gothic repeat design and chevron carving below the iron lock-plate, between chip carved sides. Standing on supporting end planks with cut in ‘V’ feet, 18” (46 cm) high, 39¼” (100 cm) wide, 13¼” (34 cm) deep.
