Description
A Small Louis XVI Style White Marble & Gilt Bronze Marble Clock. The white enamelled dial with black Arabic numerals marking the hours within a ring of minute divisions numbered at the quarter hour, ornamented with intricately painted swags of pink rose garlands with gilt embellishments, and having ornately pierced and gilded hands. The rectangular marble case with scotia moulded top surmounted by a basket cascading flowers, with a trophy of love adorning the front, laurel wreaths hung from tasselled ribbon bows to the sides, and entwined trails of flowers and foliage to the rectangular plinth base on turned gilt feet, 9” (23 cm) high.
