A 17th Century Oak Caqueteuese ‘Trinity Hall’ Armchair. The tall narrow back having a moulded top rail with a shallow scrolling pediment above two panels; the tall upper panel carved with initials and ciphers defined against a recessed ground. The small lower panel centred by a flower head emitting leaves. The flat, bowed arms with in-curved pad terminals on rising baluster turned posts, leading down to a planked trapezoid seat above scalloped seat rails and ball knopped rising baluster legs united by peripheral stretchers, 49½” (126 cm) high, the seat 18” (46 cm) high, 25” (64 cm) wide.
