Description
A Fabulous William & Mary Walnut & Marquetry Candle Stand of fine colour & patination. The octagonal top supported by a tapering hexagonal stem topped by a fine ball knopped section and leading down to a moulded hexagonal hub raised on three silhouette cut S-scroll block legs. The moulded top enriched with intricate entwined foliate inlay to a petal-edged centre panel, and eight subsidiary D-ended border panels between foliate bands outlined with strings of ebony and boxwood. The stem having marquetry panels adorned with pendant garlands of flowers & foliage running down the sides, with further scrolling floral sprays to the tripod. 30½” (77 cm) high, 14¼” (36 cm) wide.
