A Decorative Painted Gilt Side Cabinet with label to back; ‘Paine’s Furniture Company Makers & Importers of Fine Furniture 48 Canal Street and 141 Friend St Boston Mass’. The rectangular top painted with a rural landscape edged with a chain of carved bell flowers. The cabinet door depicting a flirtatious couple framed by carved paterae with ornamental spandrels to the corners and integral reeded columns either side leading down to form the stop-fluted legs, 37½” (95 cm) high, 22” (56 cm) wide.
